LinkedIn Headshots Melbourne

LinkedIn headshots from a dedicated studio in Melbourne’s south-east, six days a week.
Your LinkedIn headshots photo is doing more work than your headline.
It is the first thing a recruiter, a client, or a hiring manager processes usually before they have read a single word about you.
A considered, well-lit professional headshot tells them something else entirely.

What makes a LinkedIn photo actually work?

LinkedIn is not a passport photo and it is not a portrait sitting. It has its own visual rules, and they come from how the platform displays your image: a small circle, often viewed on a phone, frequently at 48 pixels wide in a search result.
  • A tight, generous crop. Head and shoulders, eyes roughly a third from the top. Anything wider disappears at thumbnail size.
  • Clear separation from the background. A clean, uncluttered backdrop so your face is the only thing competing for attention.
  • Eye contact and a real expression. Not a held smile an expression that looks like you mid conversation.
  • Lighting that flatters rather than flattens. Soft, directional light gives shape to a face. Overhead office lighting does the opposite.

Who I photograph?

Job seekers and career changers You are about to be looked at closely by people who have never met you. Profiles with a professional photo receive substantially more views and connection requests the photo is the cheapest advantage available to you in a competitive market.

Consultants, coaches and sole traders You are the product. Your LinkedIn photo appears on proposals, in DMs, on your website and in every comment you leave. It needs to look like the person clients are paying for.

Executives and board members Higher stakes, more conservative direction authority without stiffness. If this is you, my Executive and Corporate Headshots page covers the format in more detail.

Whole teams If you need consistent profile photos across a department or a firm, I shoot staff and team headshots either in-studio or on-site at your office.

What to wear to a LinkedIn headshot session?

Works well

  • Solid mid-tone colours navy, charcoal, deep green, burgundy
  • Structured layers: a blazer, a jacket, a well-fitted knit
  • Necklines that frame rather than crowd the face
  • Whatever you would actually wear to meet an important client

Avoid

  • Tight patterns, thin stripes and small checks they shimmer badly at small sizes
  • Visible logos and slogans
  • Brand-new clothes you have not worn in
  • Anything you are already unsure about
